Useful Treaty Links

Posted at 8:07 pm by Conor Slowey

If you want to do detail reading on the Lisbon Treaty, here are a few links:

You can read the Lisbon Treaty itself here. The Lisbon Treaty is hard to read on its own, as it is a package of amendments to the Treaty on European Union and the Treaty establishing the European Community (which it re-names the Treaty on the Functoning of the European Union).

You can read the current Treaties (as amended by Amsterdam and Nice) here, and compare them with the Treaties as they would be if Lisbon was ratified (link). The Lisbon-amended treaties have the old article numbers in brackets (unless the article is new), which helps when comparing.

The Charter on Fundamental Rights and its explanation are here.

If you don't want to go through reading all that treaty text in that much detail, you can visit the Referendum Commission's website for Lisbon info here.
